Gutters are attached to roof edges to help drain water from the roof down and away from the building foundation. Typically, a gutter system consists of sections of gutter, drop outlets, and downspouts. Proper gutter sizing, downspout locations, and overall installation help eliminate ground settling and leaks into a building’s lower level. Roofing and gutter systems often wear out at the same time so we recommend replacing the roof and gutter at the same time if possible to help insure that the flashing between the two function properly.
